Position Background:
This internship is an outstanding career development opportunity for Chemical, Energy, and Petroleum Engineering students. Throughout your time with CMG, interns will gain extensive experience in the simulation of reservoir and production processes ranging from conventional and unconventional oil recovery, thermal recovery methods, integrated production systems, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), geothermal energy and CO2 sequestration. CMG's reservoir and production simulation software suite is used worldwide by energy companies, petroleum engineering consulting companies and universities.
Job Description:
As a member of a world-wide team in the Customer Success & Consulting (CSC) group of CMG, you will be providing reservoir engineering and simulation assistance to CMG's reservoir simulation software clients in a global setting. Specific opportunities include:
- Becoming familiar with oil and gas recovery processes with emphasis on advanced EOR processes
- Becoming skilled in performed reservoir engineering studies
- Becoming skilled in performing production engineering studies, including wellbore and facility design
- Becoming adept at processes such as CO2 sequestration & EOR as well as Geothermal modelling to lead our clients into the energy transition
- Becoming proficient with CMG's software suite, including the graphical pre- and post-processors, EOS phase behavior software and CMG's reservoir simulators
- Play a leading role in supporting CMG clients who use the software for a variety of challenging and leading-edge petroleum reservoir recovery processes
- Provide and assist with training to CMG clients when required
- Assist senior consultants with simulation studies conducted for clients worldwide
This position will be on a hybrid work schedule. This position is based at our head office in Calgary and travel outside Calgary is not anticipated. All applicants must be legally authorized to live and work in Canada.
