Judith Athaide


Ms Athaide is a Calgary based certified corporate director, professional engineer, entrepreneur and energy sector leader. She joined the board of CMG in 2017 and is currently chairing the Talent Management, Governance and Nomination Committee. Her other governance commitments include Canada Pension Plan Investments where she serves on the Risk, Governance and Nomination, and Investment Strategy Committees and Kiwetinohk Energy where she chairs the Governance and Nomination Committee.

She has previously served on the boards, and chaired committees, of HSBC Bank Canada, New Brunswick Power, TriSummit Utilities, Sustainable Development Technology Canada, PHX Energy Services, Balancing Pool of Alberta, Fortis Alberta, Cimarron Engineering, Cognera Corp., the Business Advisory Council of the University of Alberta, Accenture Business Services and chaired the ICD Calgary Chapter.

Ms. Athaide holds a B. Comm (Honours) from the University of Manitoba and a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta. She has been awarded the designation of ICD.D by the Institute of Corporate Directors, was recognized as a Canadian Corporate Top 5 Director Nominee for 2022 by BMO Financial/Women Get on Board, a 2022 Director to Watch by Directors & Boards and one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in the Corporate Director category in 2016.
