Day 1 - Integrated Reservoir and Production System Modelling using CoFlow

In this course, you will get an overview of Integrated Reservoir and Production Modelling using CoFlow. You will learn about major CoFlow features with hands-on examples on:

  • Modelling an offshore asset with multiple reservoirs, wells and subsea and surface facilities.
  • Setting up of well and facility constraints and analyzing results.
  • Understanding the applicability of multiple fidelities of IPSM components available in CoFlow.

 

Day 2 - Well Performance Analysis and Optimization using CoFlow

In this course, you will learn about typical production engineering tasks related to well performance analysis and optimization. You will learn how to create well models and conduct various analysis on them. You will tune wellbore models (VLP and IPR) with well test data, design optimal well completions using Nodal Analysis, and evaluate artificial lift options. You will perform gas lift rate and mandrel spacing optimizations.

 

Day 3 - Gas Field Production Optimization using CoFlow-X

In this course, you will learn how to create a well and surface network model in CoFlow, connect it to existing reservoir models for a gas field, and optimize the integrated system for production under contract obligations and system constraints. You will be able to estimate the back pressure effects of surface network on the wells, calculate pressure and temperature changes in Surface Pipeline Network, and evaluate compression requirements.

Oscar, a Staff Reservoir Simulation Specialist, has over 18 years of industry experience working with CMG and national oil companies. Oscar's expertise includes clastic and carbonate fractured reservoirs, simulation of chemical EOR projects, CSS and steam flooding. He holds a Bachelor of Science, Petroleum Engineering and a Master of Science, Petroleum Engineering, both from the National University of Mexico. 

Varun, a Staff Reservoir Simulation Engineer and Team Lead, is an expert in unconventional oil and gas (shale and tight) simulation, SAGD, geomechanics, and integrated production systems modeling. He holds a Bachelor of Technology, Petroleum Engineering from the Indian School of Mines and a Master of Science, Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada.

Yousef, a Senior Reservoir Simulation Engineer, started his career with CMG in 2014. He has over five years of industry experience with a particular focus on the modelling of thermal EOR processes, geomechanics and unconventional reservoir simulation (tight oil/gas and shale gas reservoirs). He holds a Bachelor of Science, Petroleum Engineering, from Sharif University of Technology, Iran, a Master of Science, Reservoir Geoscience and Engineering, from the Institut Français du Pétrole, IFP, France, and a PhD, Petroleum Engineering, from University of Alberta, Canada.
