Global Events Manager

People are our most valuable asset.

Computer Modelling Group (CMG) is the global leader in reservoir simulation technology, serving 100% of the world’s super majors and a rapidly growing base of energy innovators. As we continue to expand and redefine the energy software landscape, we know that our industry presence and technical thought leadership are core to our growth strategy. Events aren’t just a function here – they’re a critical pillar of our brand, growth, and customer engagement strategy.

That’s why we’re searching for a creative, strategic, and results-driven Global Events Manager to take our industry events to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

As our Global Events Manager, you’ll own the entire lifecycle of our events portfolio:

  • Technical Symposiums & Workshops: Plan and execute world-class CMG-hosted and sponsored events, including our flagship 2-day symposium, which attracts leading industry professionals and innovators.
  • Industry Conferences & Trade Shows: Lead CMG’s presence at major global events, including Offshore Technology Conferences and other key industry gatherings.
  • Creative Activations: Think beyond the booth. You’ll design engaging, memorable experiences that resonate with technical audiences – from interactive workshops to networking events and digital activations.

You’ll work closely with our Marketing, Product, and Executive teams to ensure that every event is a powerful expression of our brand, our innovation, and our commitment to helping clients succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global events strategy aligned with CMG’s marketing and business goals.
  • Own end-to-end event management, from concept, budgeting, and planning to flawless execution and post-event analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of content, branding, and customer engagement.
  • Bring creative ideas for event experiences, including unique networking concepts, live demos, and interactive elements that make CMG events stand out.
  • Partner with external vendors, venues, and agencies to deliver high-quality experiences.
  • Manage event promotion, including pre-, during-, and post-event marketing, in partnership with our digital and content teams.
  • Analyze event performance, measure ROI, and continuously refine our event approach to maximize impact.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging formats (e.g., hybrid events), and competitor activations to keep CMG at the forefront.

The above description describes the primary functions of the role but is not an all-inclusive list of responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Proven 5+ years experience managing large-scale events (experience in oil & gas, energy, or technology sectors is a bonus, but not required).
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering high-quality events on time and within budget.
  • Creative thinker who loves designing experiences that surprise and delight technical audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse internal and external teams.
  • Strong understanding of event marketing, including promotion, engagement tactics, and post-event follow-up.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
