Manager, Accounting, Reservoir Simulation

Manager, Accounting, Reservoir Simulation is responsible for overseeing all financial operations including primarily including the reporting and accounting. They will support the Controller on growth and profitability initiatives. Additionally, they will continuously improve the operations of the finance and accounting functions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations, including general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Review/prepare, as applicable, monthly account reconciliations/month-end schedules
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly subsidiary financial statements
  • Oversee regulatory accounting requirements in international jurisdictions
  • Coordinate and consolidate financial data from various subsidiaries across multiple jurisdictions
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information and oversee implementing efficiencies and automations in day-to-day financial operations
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures for the company, balancing accuracy and compliance with transparency and the reporting needs of internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and document business processes and ongoing review of internal control environment including management of changes
  • Review contracts and interpret the technical accounting rules under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including the preparation of technical accounting memos
  • Oversee contracts in collaboration with the legal team
  • Liaise with auditors and other external parties, as applicable
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Calculate/ review internal transfer pricing calculations
  • Lead improvements, upgrades and enhancements to accounting systems and related accounting processes/controls
  • Support cash management helping oversee day-to-day cash balances across jurisdictions and banks
  • Collaborate with Finance integration team to support integration of newly acquired businesses into the subsidiary
  • Develop and mentor department team members
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial initiatives with company wide-operational goals

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Canadian CPA, or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 year in a supervisory role. Tech company experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
