Total Rewards Manager

The Total Rewards Manager plays a critical role in shaping and delivering CMG’s global compensation, benefits, and equity programs. This role ensures that our total rewards strategy supports our business goals across the group, enhances employee experience, and aligns with expectations of a publicly traded organization. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the payroll function across multiple countries, managing compensation cycles, and supporting our long-term and short-term incentive plans. They will also support the ongoing development and optimization of our HRIS environment.

This is a highly autonomous, hands-on, relationship-focused role that blends strategic program design with operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

Total Rewards & Compensation Strategy

  • Support the design, implementation, and administration of global compensation and benefits programs.
  • Support annual compensation cycles from the HRIS lens in tandem with the HRBP’s
  • Provide guidance to leaders on salary benchmarking and structures, and internal equity decisions.
  • Maintain and evolve compensation frameworks to ensure competitiveness across global markets.

 

Equity Programs (LTIP/STIP)

  • Own the administration of equity plans for a publicly traded company.
  • Coordinate with external equity administrators (e.g., Computershare) to ensure accurate grants, vesting, and compliance.
  • Provide employee education and communication on equity programs.

 

Payroll Oversight

  • Oversee global payroll operations at the group level, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
  • Partner with payroll team members and accounting for reconciliations and audit support.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within payroll workflows such as consolidation of providers.

 

HR Systems (HRIS)

  • Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy across HR systems for our Group of companies, globally.
  • Design dashboards and reporting insights to support business decision-making.

 

Global Support & Governance

  • Work with HR partners across multiple countries to align total rewards and payroll practices.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory, public company, and audit requirements.
  • Support development of clear documentation, policies, and employee communications.

 

Location

  • Calgary, Alberta
  • Remote work will be considered for an ideal candidate that resides outside of Calgary

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Required
    • Strong experience with equity, LTIP, STIP programs (must)
    • Experience working in a publicly traded environment with knowledge of disclosure, governance, and equity considerations (must)
    • 5+ years experience in compensation / total rewards, including exposure to global programs.
    • Strong understanding of payroll operations and cross-border regulatory considerations.
    • Ability to analyze data, interpret market benchmarks, and provide insights for decision-making.
    • Ability to work autonomously and drive decisions forward.

     

    Preferred / Assets

    • Hands-on experience with Computershare or similar equity administration platforms.
    • Global compensation and/or expatriate assignment experience.
    • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors implementation or system administration.
