CMG is seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our global Information Technology team. This is a full-time, permanent position. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in all aspects of Information Technology with previous experience leading and managing IT projects, have a strong customer service focus and a desire to advance the technology and security positions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CMG global IT manager to provide high level IT oversight and guidance to the local IT team.
• Act as a site leader for IT operations and strategic projects in Eastern Hemisphere.
• Act as both a player and a coach, leading the hands-on implementation of IT projects and providing coaching and mentorship to a distributed IT team.
• Collaboratively and independently lead infrastructure, application and business system projects, integrations, and migrations.
• Support the global CMG IT team to ensure the proper functioning of networks, servers, and other IT infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and assistance to CMG employees end-users via Microsoft Teams, email, phone or in person.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software applications, policies, and configurations to maintain a standardized and secure computing environment.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security measures, including antivirus software, operating system updates, software updates and network equipment ensuring security and optimal performance.
• Assist in the implementation and configuration of complex high performance computing infrastructure at both CMG and client locations.
• Review existing IT infrastructure, identify, and provide proposals for areas of improvement.
• Document and maintain accurate records of IT support requests, solutions provided, and relevant information in the IT ticketing and change management systems.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks related to staffing activities.
• Provide employee training and support for software applications and tools.
• Assist in the management and maintenance of IT inventory and assets.
• Assist CMG Customer Support and Sales teams with technical support for CMG clients as it relates to customer IT infrastructure, servers, networking, and cloud infrastructure.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education:

Bachelors degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or related field.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD (Entra), SharePoint and Teams administration
  • Linux proficiency, including strong scripting and networking experience (RHEL, Ubuntu)
  • Proficiency with VMware ESX, vSphere and other virtualized environments
  • Work on diagnosing and debugging HPC hardware and software issues
  • Demonstrated experience with cluster compute scheduler software (e.g. SLURM, PBS, Spectrum LSF)
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Be customer focused, learn about the business to help bring value to our customers
  • Team focused with a positive attitude, must be self-motivated, and have very good time management and communication skills both in written and verbal English.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in IT operations management
  • Experience in leading IT projects while remaining hands-on
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory administration and Power Shell
  • Experience with HPC environments and MPI (Windows, Linux)
  • Experience with managing cloud infrastructures such as AWS and Azure.
