Software Sales Director (Reservoir & Production Simulation)

CMG is seeking a Software Sales Director to join our Sales team. This is a full-time, permanent position.

CMG is recognized as a world leader in reservoir and production simulation, especially for high profile processes like CCS, geothermal, heavy oil, and unconventional reservoirs. Working with CMG’s team is an invaluable opportunity to achieve a rewarding and stable sales position.

You will require a proven track record in technical or software sales to the oil and gas industry, in particular in the areas of reservoir and production modelling.

The position will be to sell the range of CMG’s reservoir and production simulation software products and manage CMG’s customers based in Canada. The exact territory and customer profile will be determined in conjunction with the successful candidate.

You will be expected to work independently, with backing from the CMG team based in Calgary, in order to meet and exceed your financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as part of the Sales team, under the direction of a Regional Director – Canada.

  • Develop, drive, and execute on sales plans that maximize CMGs footprint and value within our Canadian Region.
  • Hit or exceed revenue goals for the region.
  • Sales process experience with emphasis on the Value Selling methodology.
  • Proficient in utilizing CRM ie. SalesForce.
  • Coordinate meetings and sales team resources; manage solution/proposition, develop client relationships and relevant client demonstrations, etc.
  • Prospecting net new customers and cross selling to existing CMG customers.
  • Experience developing and producing professional proposals and supporting materials.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) & the ability to deliver top notch presentations.
  • Effectively engage with the C-suite to maintain their continued support of CMGs applications.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education
A degree in any of the following would be considered advantageous for the role; BSc in Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a Business degree.
Knowledge & Skills
  • It would be advantageous for the candidate to have some of the following existing capabilities:
    • Previous experience with reservoir modelling or production engineering software ie. CMG’s IMEX, GEM, or STARS; Eclipse/Intersect; Tnav; or other similar products.
    • A good working knowledge of production engineering software e.g. GAP, Prosper, Hysis, OLGA, Pipesim, Wellflo; or other similar products.
  • The successful candidate must be able to:
    • Work as part of a small local team, and work collaboratively with individuals from other teams across the globe.
    • Be a good communicator and able to see long term value opportunities.
    • Be self-motivated, require minimal supervision, and have excellent communication skills both in written and verbal English.
    • Use standard MS Windows and associated office productivity software tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Be customer focused, learn about the business to help bring value to our customers.
  • Team focused with a positive attitude, must be self-motivated, and have very good time management and communication skills both in written and verbal English.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience (software solutions and/or Oil and Gas sector) with proven track record.
Special Requirements
  • A reasonable amount of travel should be expected to client offices located throughout the assigned territory in Canada and to the occasional industry conference or workshop. CMG is open to other locations based on the candidate’s network of contacts and sales prospects.
  • Ability to live and work in Canada.
