Senior Financial Analyst

Computer Modelling Group (CMG) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role will support the preparation of consolidated financial statements, regulatory filings, technical accounting assessments, and global accounting operations across multiple jurisdictions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining a strong internal control environment, supporting month-end and quarter-end close activities, and partnering with business leaders to continuously improve financial processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Prepare and maintain working papers supporting external financial reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate and consolidate financial information from subsidiaries operating in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prepare account reconciliations, month-end schedules, and supporting analyses.
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting processes, including regulatory filings and audit requirements.

Technical Accounting & Compliance

  • Research and document accounting conclusions under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Assist in the preparation of technical accounting memos and position papers.
  • Review significant and unusual transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Prepare calculations and reconciliations on stock-based compensation and equity accounts.
  • Support the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Support the design, documentation, and ongoing evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of finance processes, controls, and automation initiatives.
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and reporting enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial processes.

Accounting Support

  • Participate in acquisition accounting and post-acquisition integration activities as required.
  • Support subsidiaries in their integration and adoption of the ERP, including managing adoption of new functionality throughout the group.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Qualifications

Education & Professional Designation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
  • CPA designation required.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or industry.
  • Experience preparing financial statements under IFRS.
  • Experience with external audits and financial reporting processes.
  • Multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation experience is considered an asset.
  • Public company reporting experience is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of IFRS and financial statement presentation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience with consolidation systems, Workiva, or similar reporting platforms is an asset.
